“There’s that dragon! Get him!”

Two officers in grey – By the gods, thought Aren, they’re everywhere – began to run towards them. Aren took a few quick steps back then rounded on Daventh angrily.

“Lawmen? We’ve been here an hour and you already got mixed up with lawmen?”

Daventh swung his head, his gold eyes fixing on Aren’s. “I didn’t know what they were. At first. And I really needed to pee.”

Aren was about to ask whether he’d heard him right (he really hoped he hadn’t) when he noticed the elven officer from before emerge from the crowds close by and head purposefully towards him. “Vaes nara,” he swore. “Let’s go, Daventh.”
